Raw Food For Everyday Living – eBook
“What is the best raw food dish you’ve ever eaten?,” one of our students asked me a while back Wow! What a question! Having been deeply into the raw lifestyle for 10 years, I took a few moments to search my memory. Here’s what bubbled to the surface:
- Malai Kofta (an Indian dish) and cashew ice cream at Quintessence in NYC
- Fantastic durian, chocolate, goji superfood feasts on many occasions with friends
- Decadent elixirs and haute cuisine salads at Roxanne’s in Marin County, CA
- Greens straight from the garden along with garlic shoots that I wildcrafted from the forest in Austria
- Creamy kale salad from my friends Mark and Veronique of Vital Essence in New Zealand AND…
- Just about anything from chef Leah Rinaldi
Now it’s true that Leah is my partner in Raw Food Bali and I may be just a little biased toward her food. :) But, in my defence, I tell you that it’s precisely her food that got me excited about partnering with her in the first place.
Leah is a food artist: she truly loves creating with food. Her daring to experiment with new flavours and dishes and her passion to create ultra healthy food infuses whatever she makes with a lot of positive energy. Some of my personal favorites are: chipotle lasagna, orange julius, key lime pie and basil chocolate.
If you’ve been along to one of our classes or retreats, you might have been lucky enough to learn how to make one or more of my favourite “Leah dishes.” But if you haven’t had that chance to learn directly from the chef, your still in luck. Leah and I have put our best recipes and information in our new ebook: Raw Food For Everyday Living.
One thing we’ve done is to make sure that the recipes are easy enough for pretty much anyone to use. We wanted to make sure that you don’t get frustrated and give up on raw food just because of complicated recipes. 90% of the recipes we’ve included can be made in 15 minutes or less. The other 10% (chipotle lasagna for example) do require more time, but are not particularly complicated.
Here’s an overview:
To get started there is a focused information about the raw food lifestyle including:
- The most important strategies on how to successfully transition to a high raw or fully raw diet and make it stick – I wish I would have known these when I started.
- The basic facts on raw food. We’ve included this to give you a bit of back up when people ask, “why would you eat mostly raw food?”
After that we give you practicals that will help organize your kitchen:
- A list of all the equipment you really need, which brands we like best as well as suggestions on what to do if you don’t have it yet.
- Our special tasting guide that will help you make your own dishes shine – this is something that any food lover will benefit from. Using it, I’ve saved quite a few dishes from the compost heap.
- The world cuisine spicing guide – we’ve include this to help you in giving some of our recipes your own twist.
Then comes 100+ Recipes for everything from condiments to dessert:
-
- Drinks – 9
- Pates and Dips – 8
- Soups – 6
- Main Dishes – 12
- Side Dishes – 17
- Dressings – 13
- Desserts – 20
- Dehydrated Foods – 11
- Condiments – 14
Finally, we’ve included 8 sample menus that you can use to create complete and balanced meals – this takes some of the guess work out of finding dishes that complement one another.
Over the past 10 months, Leah and I have run 36 courses in Bali and Singapore with about 350 students from all walks of life. Raw Food For Everyday Living introduces the fundamental concepts and the best recipes and information that we regularly teach. If you haven’t had a chance to meet us yet, we think it’s a great way to for you to get to know what we’re up to. And, if you have, it’s a great way to progress on your food journey.
