Hey did I mention that I love Durian?
Watch this video then.
Now you understand. 😉
Now look at some food porn!
This recipe is one of the more eccentric Durian recipes that I’ve concocted, but it’s freeshin’ awesome. Durian is so rich, creamy, and, often sweet, that it mixes perfectly with spicy, hot and peppery flavors.…Read more →
Recently I posted a recipe for a Miso Mustard Salad Dressing and I talked a bit about how awesome of an ingredient mustard. Particularly in salad dressings, throwing some mustard in the mix is an almost sure-fire way to guarantee your dressing comes out delicious. If you like mustard of course 🙂 I have two mustards that I use in my recipes, the one I linked to in the miso mustard dressing post, and a Hot Mustard that I’m going to share with you today.…Read more →
For a dude that used to live off peanut butter and jam sandwiches, I surprisingly haven’t made that many Jams since I started working in the culinary arts. I still haven’t made a Raw Peanut Butter and Jam Sandwich, (mainly because I can’t get jungle peanuts here without paying a fortune, so I can’t make Raw Peanut Butter), but I at least now have made a couple jams.…Read more →
Hummus is downright unfairly delicious. I once read this article about how the massive demand of hummus was the sole factor responsible for a number of farmers exchanging crops for chick peas. This article isn’t the exact one I read, but it drives the point across. Unfortunately, raw chick peas don’t have the same flavor as the cooked ones, and so don’t deliver the same taste as the traditional version.…Read more →
There are an unending list of benefits for the Raw Foodie / health conscious individual of living here in Ubud, Bali. I’m not sure there’s any place in the world with a denser concentration of raw food restaurants. The organic produce is highly affordable and is often picked the same day that it becomes available in the shops and markets.…Read more →
I love me some chutney. My favorite bases for it are tomato, tamarind, papaya and banana. This recipe has 3 of those 4! It’s sweet, spicy, zesty, has a hint of sourness to it, and is packed full of delicious healthiness 🙂
I put it in a wrap that I made out of a Spicy Mushroom Miso Sauce for which the recipe magically and unfortunately disappeared 🙁
Did you know that you can turn pretty much any thick sauce into a wrap if you add a bit of psyllium husk?…Read more →
This recipe is a super emotional one for me. It’s the first proper, original recipe I ever created. Bringing back sweet memories, you know? Back in my University days I wasn’t exactly a professional chef, but I did like to get creative in the kitchen every now and again. Most of the time the results of those sessions were far from satisfying the standards of food quality that I have now.…Read more →
I’ll be making a post soon about how I made the DIY Photo Box that allows a photographically challenged human being like myself to take such beautiful food photos.
I absolutely adore basil. It’s in a close competition with cilantro as my favorite herb. The next pesto I’ll be making will have both in it!…Read more →
It’s that time of year again. That time when the pumpkins evolve from Halloween decorations to Thanksgiving Desserts. When early holiday bargain hunters loiter around malls wailing ominous noises while they wait for Black Friday deals to kick in. When the average American stuffs their belly full of Turkey, Stuffing, Gravy and Biscuits while watching Tony Romo score less with the Dallas Cowboys than he does with pop music divas. …Read more →
