Well it has been a long last few weeks. My dreams are filled with WordPress plugins and css codes. But it has all been worth it. My new site is finally up and running, and the Durians have started popping up just in time for me to reward myself.

Designing an entire website from scratch was an idea that scared the shit out of me 6 months ago. I feel incredibly empowered by having done it, and would like to give a huge thanks to my boy Artikai for teaching me how to use WordPress. When he launches his new site, which is going to be all about teaching people how to use technology, I will be sharing it with you guys because I am certain it will be simply phenomenal.

But enough about designing websites. Tonight, I shall dream of unicorns and rainbows (that’s the name of a song I’m working on btw) instead of social sharing bars and newsletter auto-responders.

And onto the good stuff. The great stuff. What this site is all about. Raw Food. Tasty Freesh. Hip Hop. And of course. DURIAN!!!!!

You know I had to post a Durian Recipe to kick off this new site. Had no choice. And I wanted it to be a simple one, because one of the best things about Raw Food, or Freeshin, is that it’s Easy!

Raw Coconut Durian Fudge Recipe

  • 1 cup Durian Flesh
  • ¾ cup Cashew Butter (4 cups Cashews, ¼ cup Coconut Oil)*
  • ¼ cup Coconut Butter (Make yourself by putting Coconut Flakes in the food processor for 15-20 minutes until they turn into butter)
  • ¼ cup Dates
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Vanilla Extract

  • *I'm going to be making a post about the secret to making TRULY Raw nut butters very soon, but if you are buying nut butters then don't worry about having coconut oil in it. The recipe will work with pure cashew butter.


  1. Blitz all ingredients until smooth and creamy.
  2. Cover the inside of a sandwich sized tupperware in plastic wrap.
  3. Pour mix into the tupperware.
  4. Sprinkle Garnish on top. I used a whole bunch of desiccated coconut.
  5. Put in freezer for 4-6 hours.
  6. Pop fudge block out of tupperware, remove plastic wrap, and cut into pieces.
  7. Marvel at the glory of the King of Fruits.

This recipe makes around 10-12 healthy chunks of fudge. One piece is a seriously freesh treat. After my friend ate a few he drove home without his backpack (which had his house keys in them) and then drove into a ditch. That’s why they say DON’T DURIAN AND DRIVE!!!

  1. Sounds great! Can I use also other than durian? Don’t think I will find that in Europe so easily. Like the recipes here and the side.. simple but inspiring!

    • Hi Heidi,

      Sure thing this recipe would work great with banana or mango, or both! Or berries! I made blueberry fudge once it was phenomenal. If you use a more watery fruit use more dates and cashew/coconut butter to thicken it up.

      If you do want to try to hunt down some durian though, check out the asian supermarkets. They often have it frozen.

        So I found a source and bought some frozen durian. Will the frozen fruit work just as well in the recipe? Can’t wait to try this one out… stat!
